GMC Key Technology Explained
GMC shares its key architecture with Chevrolet under the GM umbrella: PassKey III transponder keys (early 2000s GMC Sierra, Yukon, Envoy), Hitag2 smart fobs (2014–2019 Sierra, Yukon, Acadia), and the current Global B encrypted proximity fobs (2020+ Sierra, Yukon, Hummer EV). Global B requires authenticated dealer-level access to Service Programming System (SPS) and is one of the harder OEM systems to handle aftermarket. We carry the active subscriptions and tooling required, which is why we're often called in for Hummer EV and 2020+ Sierra Denali jobs that other locksmiths decline.
