About Our Infiniti Locksmith Service in Dallas-Fort Worth
Infiniti sits in a lot of North Dallas driveways — Q50 sedans on the Tollway, QX60 school runs through Frisco and Southlake, QX80s at Legacy West, and G35 and G37 coupes still in daily use. Because Infiniti runs Nissan NATS underneath the badge, most of these are curbside jobs rather than a dealer tow: we read the immobilizer PIN through the OBD port, register the new key, and erase the keys that were lost. Two cars come with a warning we give on the phone rather than after the van arrives. The 2017–2019 QX30 was built on the Mercedes GLA / MFA platform, so its immobilizer is not Nissan NATS and aftermarket key support is limited. The 2022–2025 QX60 L51 is the other: its all-keys-lost PIN is expected to come out of the HFM module instead of the port.
Infiniti Key Technology Explained
Infiniti runs three transponder generations under the NATS badge, and the splits do not fall where you would guess. Cars from 2000 to 2006 — G20 P11, I30 and I35 A33, Q45 F50, M45 Y34, QX4 R50 — carry a Texas 4D60 chip on NI01/NI02 and NI04-style blades. The Philips Hitag2 / ID46 cars stretch from the 2003 G35 V35 to the 2024 QX80 Z62, and the silicon does not sort neatly by key shape: the bladed NI04 keys of the V35 G35 and the JA60 QX56 are PCF7936, and so is the 2005–2007 G35 Intelligent Key prox, while PCF7952 and PCF7952A show up on the later prox cars — V36 G37/G25/Q40/Q60, S51 FX and QX70, J50 EX and QX50, Y51 M37 and Q70. The PIN length is not a brand constant either: V36, S51, Y51 and Z62 are all quoted as a 20-digit BCM PIN read, but the 2005–2007 G35 Intelligent Key is a 5-digit/BCM PIN. From 2014 the Q50 V37 introduced NATS 5 with Hitag-AES / ID4A; the Q60 CV37, QX50 J55 and QX55 name that chip specifically as the NCF29A1M, while the Q50 itself is catalogued only as Hitag-AES / ID4A / NXP AES-128, without the part number. The 2022 QX60 L51 keeps Hitag-AES but moves platform again, onto RH850 / HFM.
Infiniti Models We Service Most Often in DFW
Infiniti Q50 (V37, 2014–2023)
Three separate fob eras: KR5S180144203 at 315 MHz for 2014–16, KR5S180144014 at 433.92 MHz for 2016–19, KR5TXN7 at 433.92 MHz for 2019–23. Hitag-AES / ID4A, PIN read over OBD on a standard DLC with no gateway, all-keys-lost estimated at 25–45 minutes. KM100 and IM508 stalls are documented on the 2014 builds.
Infiniti QX60 (L50 vs L51)
L50 2014–2020 is the straightforward one — KR5S180144014 fob, PIN over OBD, prox over OBD, no teardown, all-keys-lost estimated at 25–45 minutes. L51 2022–2025 is a different job: KR5TXN7 fob on the RH850 / HFM platform, all-keys-lost expected to need a 28-digit PIN from the HFM and estimated at 60–100 minutes, confirmed on the specific build. There is no 2021 QX60 — the model year was skipped.
Infiniti G35 & G37 (V35 / V36)
Two different V35 cars overlap in the same years: the turn-key trim takes an NI04 ID46 blade with a separate keyless remote, while the 2005–2007 Intelligent Key trim is a KBRTN001 prox on a rotary twist-knob ignition, registered after a 5-digit/BCM PIN read. V36 G37, G25, Q40 and the 2014–15 Q60 coupe all take KR55WK48903 after a 20-digit BCM PIN.
Infiniti QX56 & QX80 (Z62)
One key spans 2011–2024: CWTWB1G744 at 434 MHz on Hitag2 ID46, with an IN-042 emergency insert. The earlier JA60 QX56, 2004–2010, is a completely different turn-key ID46 job — an NI04 blade plus a separate KBRASTU15 remote added by on-board relearn.
Infiniti QX50, QX55 & Q60 (NATS 5)
J55 QX50 2019–2024, QX55 2022–2024 and CV37 Q60 2017–2022 all run Hitag-AES ID4A on the NCF29A1M at 434 MHz — KR5TXN1, KR5TXN7 or KR5S180144014 depending on model and year. Some need current tool software before the 20-digit PIN calculation will complete.
Infiniti G20, I30/I35 & QX4 (4D60 blades)
NI01/NI02 blanks with a Texas 4D60 chip and no RF in the key itself. Where the car has keyless entry, the remote is a separate fob learned by an on-board door-and-ignition sequence — KBRASTU10 on the I30/I35. The 1999 G20 and pre-2001 QX4 have no chip at all.
Infiniti Q45 & M45 (F50 / Y34)
Not a plain blade like its 4D60 siblings. Q45 F50 2002–2006 and M45 Y34 2003–2004 share a KBRASTU13 remote-head key at 315 MHz — the same Texas 4D60 chip, but with the remote built into the key head, programmed after a NATS/BCM PIN read.
Common Infiniti Key Problems We Solve
Online fob does not work on a Q50
A common Infiniti self-fix failure. The Q50 changed FCC ID and radio frequency at the same 2016 break, so a fob that physically fits can still be wrong on both counts — and a 2016 car can take any of the three eras. We verify FCC and OEM part number off the VIN before ordering or cutting.
All-keys-lost that stalled at another shop
2014 Q50 V37 attempts are documented failing at the same step with KM100 and IM508 tools; an IM608 Pro on current firmware is the reliable path. The car may additionally prompt for a second 20-digit security code on top of the BCM PIN — that one comes from field reports rather than tool documentation, so we watch for the prompt instead of assuming it.
2022+ QX60 quoted as a simple OBD key
The L51 shares the RH850 HFM platform with the Rogue T33 and Pathfinder R53, so all-keys-lost is expected to need the 28-digit PIN from the HFM rather than the OBD port. We quote it as an HFM job up front and confirm the requirement on the build, instead of renegotiating with the van already parked outside.
Intelligent Key stops starting the car
Often a flat fob battery. The emergency blade slides out of the fob for door access, and holding the fob against the START button shows whether the transponder still answers — if the car starts that way, the fob is alive and the battery is the problem. If it does not, the key may need re-registering.
How Our Infiniti Key Replacement Process Works
- 1
Pin the exact generation from the VIN
Before a van moves we establish whether the car is 4D60 NATS, Hitag2 ID46, Hitag-AES ID4A, an RH850 HFM build, or the Mercedes-based QX30 — and on a Q50, which of the three fob eras it belongs to.
- 2
Mobile dispatch across DFW
We come to your driveway, office garage, or roadside spot in Dallas, Plano, Frisco, Southlake or Fort Worth, typically 20-30 minutes out.
- 3
Decode the DA34 / NSN14 keyway with Lishi
On the turn-key cars a Lishi NSN14 decodes the door or the ignition directly. On the Intelligent Key cars that share the Nissan keyway we decode the driver door, which houses cuts 3-10 only — enough for the fob emergency insert blade; the full factory code means progressing cuts 1-2 or pulling it from the dealer by VIN. The 2017–2019 QX30 is the one Infiniti in our reference set with no Lishi decode listed — its emergency blade is cut to a dealer key code instead. Otherwise, no drilling and no lock replacement.
- 4
Pull the immobilizer code
On the Q50 V37 and the 2014–2020 QX60 L50 the port is a standard DLC with no gateway and the PIN comes straight out over OBD. The V36 G37, S51 FX/QX70, Y51 Q70 and Z62 QX80 are 20-digit BCM PIN reads, the 2005–2007 G35 Intelligent Key is a 5-digit/BCM PIN, and we answer a second security code prompt if the car raises one. On a 2022+ QX60 L51 the plan is a 28-digit PIN from the HFM using an APB131 harness and XP400 Pro, with a 12+16 gateway adapter for the OBD steps.
- 5
Register keys, erase the lost ones, test
New keys are written to the immobilizer and every previously learned key is erased, so anything still out there stops working. Then we test push-button start, the dead-fob dock procedure, hatch and remote start buttons, and the emergency blade in the door.
